Under the Trump administration, the United States became a grim, deeply polarized nation filled with anger and sorrow. After four years fueled by hatred and lies, xenophobic slurs, and "grab them by the pussy"... after four years filled with children being locked up in cages and oil pipelines being built on top of Native reservations... after too many years filled with Black men and women being murdered by cops, and after one massive failure of a response to a global pandemic... After four -- seemingly eternal -- years, the people of the United States used what voice they have in American democracy and they voted. In record breaking numbers, 160 million Americans slipped their ballots into their mailboxes or waited in lines at their polling places, and they voted the slimy Cheeto out of the Oval Office.
